DMD’s latest acquisition, Parasite, has been having phenomenal success ahead of its VOD release in Latin America in March 2020.
Parasite, the masterpiece by Korean director Bong Joon-ho tells the story of Ki-taek and his family, who insert themselves into the lives of the glamorous Park family, with many unintended consequences. Its sharp social commentary, visceral visuals and continual twists have led many to declare Parasite as “unquestionably one of the best films of the year” (RogerEbert.com, 2019). Parasite has also been named Mubi’s “Best Film of the 2019” (Mubi.com, 2020).
Parasite has stormed the awards season, winning the Palme D’Or at Cannes 2019, the Best Foreign Film Golden Globe 2020, and is set to win more, having been nominated for 4 BAFTAs, including Best Film, and with 6 Oscar nominations it will be a memorable month of February.
