SYNOPSIS
London, 1962. The Cuban Missile Crisis and the sexual revolution come together in this critically acclaimed film about two inseparable teenage girls. They play truant together, discuss religion, politics and hairstyles, and dream of lives bigger than their mothers' frustrated domesticity. Their friendship is put to the test as they try to overcome grief.
CINDIE SAYS:
Sally Potter's Ginger & Rosa intricately weaves personal and political narratives, exploring themes of friendship, activism, and the tumultuous journey to adulthood. With its strong performances, particularly from its young leads (Elle Fanning, Alice Englert), and its evocative portrayal of a transformative historical period, “Ginger & Rosa” is a film that lingers in the mind long after the credits roll.
