CINDIE SAYS
Long before Leonardo DiCaprio was surviving bear attacks or spinning tops in dreamscapes, he was a wiry kid standing toe-to-toe with Robert De Niro in This Boy’s Life—and stealing the film from under him. Based on Tobias Wolff’s memoir of the same name, this overlooked gem is not just a harrowing tale of abuse, adolescence, and rebellion—it’s a battle cry for self-determination.
This Boy’s Life is not just a footnote in DiCaprio’s origin story—it’s a blistering, beautifully acted testament to the power of cinema to channel trauma into transformation. Unmissable for fans of character drama, literary adaptations, and star-making turns.
