DMD Adds Telefonica Peru to List of Distribution Partners

Digital Media Distribution (DMD) has expanded significantly its distribution base in Peru by agreeing a deal with Telefonica in the country. The multinational telecommunications company’s customers will have access to DMD’s quality selection of current world-cinema and independent films, including box office hits such as Gintama, Belle & Sebastien 2, and the Whiskey Bandit, plus the award winning Thunder Road via Movistar Play, Telefonica’s TVOD platform.

Telefonica is the third platform in Peru, alongside Claro Video and iTunes, to take DMD’s content and with this deal, many more consumers in Peru will have access to DMD’s titles. Telefonica Peru is the fourth branch of the Telefonica company to distribute this content - a reflection of DMD’s close relationship with Telefonica - and becomes the twentieth platform across seventeen countries in Latin America to choose DMD’s Cine del Mundo offering to fulfil the latent demand among their customer base for this broader selection of current film titles.

In 2019, DMD will launch its SVOD Cine del Mundo service and it will be looking to make available on all IPTV, cable and OTT players in the region.
